About

When The Light Changes Everything
Have you ever been stopped in your tracks by the sudden, breathtaking beauty of light? Transforming what was an ordinary scene, into something extraordinary? It's awe-inspiring, isn't it?
If you have, you're a noticer. This is art for you.
When I paint, I am trying to capture that feeling and translate it onto canvas. But the real magic happens when someone else connects with that same light, bringing their own memories, stories and hopes for the future to the painting. That's the power of art and it's why I create.
Capturing Life's Glimmers
Light is my obsession. Whether it's the last golden rays of a winter afternoon breaking through cloud, or the shimmer on water that makes you catch your breath; I'm always chasing that moment of unexpected beauty. In my paintings I work with dark values and loose, expressive marks, looking for the single point where light transforms everything. There's always hope in it, even in the most ordinary scene.
I work primarily in acrylics, but will paint with, and on, anything I can find. Each original painting is a one-of-a-kind piece - a specific moment captured in time.
How I Became An Artist
From an early age my life has been full of creativity. I was that 5-year-old child who had a lemonade stall outside their house — although my product was perfume made with rose petals. I sold one bottle. For 3p. To my mum.
I entered every school art competition and spent break times decorating my friends' exercise books. It's no surprise that becoming a graphic designer in my 20s was the perfect job for me, blending creativity and problem solving. I loved receiving client briefs and using my skills to bring their ideas to life visually.
Having left my design job to raise my children, I found time in the evenings for a new creative outlet — digital illustration. I began creating my own range of travel posters, drawing landmarks and holiday destinations. The more people saw and bought them, the more places they requested. I now have over 150 colourful prints for sale here and on Etsy.
After more than a decade creating art on a computer, I began utilising those same skills in a more traditional way. Painting. Lockdown gave me an opportunity to practice, play and experiment, and I was hooked. The simple act of capturing a story with pigment and brush is a connection to the very roots of human expression, a tradition I feel deeply honoured to continue.
Keep Noticing
I'm dedicated to living an artistic life full of curiosity, creativity, freedom and much-needed optimism, and I'd love for you to join me on this adventure.
