Inspired by the transformative power of light, I created this series of five paintings which I have called Alpine Sunrise. The overriding feeling I had when painting these at my kitchen table was a sense of hope. I wasn't thinking about mountains or any landscape in particular, it was more about capturing an emotion. It was only after when they were drying that my husband said, they look like mountains at sunrise.
