August 10 by Khruangbin "...reviewers note that closer listening reveals a "flurry of activity that dances in the ear drum," with swirling instrumentation and subtle complexity. It is often praised for evoking nostalgia and a sense of endless, borderless groove.
Evoking the rich, golden haze of late August afternoons, I layered warm amber, sun-baked clay, and soft terracotta tones. The intuitive scraping and building of texture creates a nostalgic warmth that feels like a lingering summer memory. In fact I painted this one from my imagination, I closed my eyes and thought about where I would like to be, and this was the result.

Welcome to Snapshots, my new series of paintings that capture the subtle yet profound moments that illuminate our lives. From the soft glow of a sunset to the unexpected light after a storm, these pieces explore how we recall fleeting memories or envision hopeful futures—often with a sense of nostalgia, longing or curiosity.
Vibrant, bold, and dreamlike, these tiny pieces of art have the nostalgic charm of an 80s Polaroid. Each original, hand-painted piece is created in one sitting, with distinct impressionistic brushstrokes and emotive colours. A coat of gloss varnish adds depth and a hazy, luminous glow.
Each Snapshot is numbered and titled but their true alchemy lies in how they resonate with your unique perspective. These little paintings are designed to become a mirror for your memories, a canvas for your dreams.
Spend time with them, let your gaze wander, and allow your intuition to settle on the Snapshot that speaks to you.
