I created my Yorkshire Colours print as a celebration of the specific tones that define the rugged, beautiful landscape of God’s Own County. Rather than painting a traditional scene, I wanted to distil the essence of Yorkshire into a series of evocative stained glass style colour swatches.
This is an abstract journey through the Yorkshire county, designed for those of you who find beauty in the subtle shifts of the seasons and the enduring spirit of the northern countryside.
The Palette:
Limestone Grey: The ancient, weathered spine of the Yorkshire landscape.
Heather Purple: A nod to the wild, rolling moors in late summer.
Gorse Yellow: The bright, resilient spark of life I find along the coastal paths.
Moss & Bracken Green: The deep, earthy tones of the hidden valleys and wooded cloughs.
